The role of the project supervisor construction stage (PSCS) is to manage and co-ordinate health and safety matters during the construction stage. The PSCS appointed by the Client must be competent to carry out the role.

The role of the PSCS ends when the project is completed.

What will you learn on this course?

At the end of this course, anyone who undertakes this module will be able to:

  • Describe the duties of the PSCS in relation to management of site safety
  • Describe the requirement to co-ordinate contractors, to notify the Health & Safety Authority of the commencement of the construction project and to have security arrangements in place
  • Describe the procedures for reporting of accidents and emergency procedures in place
  • List the contents of the Safety & Health Plan
  • Describe the procedures for non-compliance with legal requirements
