‘Client’ is a person for whom a building project is carried out. The current regulations place certain duties on Clients. These duties are intended to ensure that the project is designed and constructed by competent persons. All clients should be aware of their legal duties.

This duty also extends to homeowners, called Clients in the Regulations, who are having construction work carried out on their home.

What will you learn on this course?

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the requirements for notification to the Health & Safety Authority
  • Describe the requirement of the client with regards to appointment of competent designers and contractors, in writing, to carry out the work
  • List the reasons why it is important to comply with current legislation

How does it work?

You complete each module. You will take part in an assessment process at the end of each module which consists of a 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%.
