Working at heights is any workplace, including a place at, above or below ground level, where a person could be injured if they fell down from that place. Access and egress to a place of work can also be work at height. Risk assessments must be carried out to decide the safest possible means to gain access to a height.

Who should do this course?

All employers and employees working at a height who may be using hop-ups, ladders, scaffolding or MEWP to gain access to heights.

What will you learn on this course?

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how all work at height is properly planned and organised
  • List the appropriate work equipment to be selected and used for various working at height activities
  • List the requirements contained in the legislation
  • Describe safe work procedures when using a ladder, MEWP, work platforms and know that there is no safe height

How does it work?

You complete each module as part of the course. All participants must take part in an assessment consisting of 20 multiple choice questions. A grade of 80% is required in order to pass the assessment. If you don’t pass, then there is no need to worry as you can re-take the course as many times as you need.
