Manual Handling Awareness

Manual handling training for employees, is just part of a range of preventative measures that should be taken to prevent injuries at work.

This blended learning training course has been designed by our qualified tutors to assist the employer to comply with current legislation. As this is a blended course, there is a minimum of ten students needed to run it.

Following completion of the theory online, each participant will be contacted to arrange to complete the practical session which consists of:

  • practical scenarios
  • kinetic principles
  • written assessment based on all of  the course content

Who should do this course?

All persons who lift, move or carry loads that are heavy, awkward or are in unfavourable ergonomic conditions. Minimum of ten students needed to run this course.

What will you learn on this course?

Participants who complete this course will be able to:

  • Describe manual handling legislation
  • Recognise potentially dangerous situations
  • List the factors which contribute to back pain
  • Describe correct manual handling techniques
  • Describe correct ergonomics conditions

How does it work?

You complete each module. You will take part in an assessment process at the end of each module which consists of 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%.

The answers are marked automatically so you will instantly know if you have passed. If you don’t pass, don’t worry, you can take the course as many times as you need to with no extra charge.

Active Monitoring

Active monitoring should form part of the organisation’s safety management system. Poor manual handling performance should be recorded and rectified where possible on an ongoing basis.
